When you visit your local General Practice or Hospital for a check-up, your doctor is likely to measure your height and take your weight. With these, doctors can figure out your BMI (that’s Body Mass Index).
At AMMFitness we provide users with free, easy-to-use health calculators, from BMI calculators to calculators that tell you how much energy you’ve burned from completing certain activities.
BMI Calculator
This calculator can calculate your Body Mass Index by looking at your height and weight and showing your where you fall on the healthy BMI scale. This indicates whether you are underweight, the correct weight, overweight or obese. However, BMI calculators cannot take muscle mass into account, so the results should be taken with a pinch of salt for anyone who exercises regularly. A BMI calculator should only be used for a quick look at your current weight indicator.
BMR Calculator
The BMR (Basel Metabolic Rate calculator) is used to estimate the number of calories your body burns in one day while resting. You can use this calculator to gain more control over your weight by understanding how to keep your body thriving during the day. This calculator needs the same information as a BMI calculator – height, weight, age, and gender. Once you’ve calculated your BMR, you can formulate a regular diet plan using the calories your body needs to survive each day.
TDEE Calculator
The TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure calculator) can give you an estimation of how many calories you burn each day, even when exercise is taken into account. First, you’ll need to know your Basal Metabolic Rate, which you can figure out using a BMR calculator, body fat clippers, or by using the functions on some online TDEE calculators. Next, the TDEE calculator multiplies your BMR value by an activity multiplier (choices range from a desk job with little activity to someone who is considered an athlete). Good TDEE calculators will also let you know your ideal weight and your BMI score.
Calorie Burned by Activities
This calculator is a little more involved than the others and takes more than just a few clicks to get the information you need. Once you’ve input your basic information (height, weight etc.), you then tell the calculator how long you worked out for in your exercise session and find the type of activity you did from the website’s list.
Calories Burned By Heart Rate
With this calculator, you can get an estimate of the number of calories you burned during a workout. The calculation is based on the person’s average heart rate during their workout, the duration of the workout, and the person’s age. To utilise this calculator, you will need some form of heart-rate monitor, or you will need to have used machines at the gym which have built-in monitors that you can record your results from.
